Currently Craving: Burgundy
Burgundy is pretty much the hottest fall color for the up and coming fall season, and rightly so. This rich tone screams falling leaves and sweater weather, and goes well with cream, camel, black, and dark green. For a color cozy yet supremely sophisticated, look no further.
Mini Skirts are perfect for fall despite their length, because hellooo?! tights! They make everything better, cuter, warmer, and sexier. Sortof. The T by Alexander Wang Leather Mini Skirt (1) is sexy, the Pleated Neoprene Mini Skirt (2), also by Alex Wang, is different and fun, and Carvens Mini Skirt (3) is girly and polished. For something more substantial on your legs, The Row makes some fantastic
Leather Leggings (4), and the combination of leather and burgundy is pretty killer. Jersey and burgundy is pretty cool too, especially in Helmut Langs Draped Jersey Dress (5).
To keep your head and neck warm, or at least stylish, go for a cool hat- Borsalino Hare Velour Hat (6) and a cozy scarf, this Topshop Snood (7) is especially great because a food is by far warmer, so there you go. For more coziness, we move on to sweaters, you can't go wrong with a turtleneck like Etros Wool Blend Sweater (8), or cashmere, like Uniqlos Cashmere V Neck Sweater in Wine (9). More toasty fashion comes in the form of Haider Ackermans Wool-Blend Felt Coat (10) and the Versus Hooded Shearling Coat (11), which is pretty much the best thing ever. Not much warmth, but fashion for days comes in Haider Ackerman's Swinton Taroni Jacket (12), which is the next best thing to the Versus coat.
If you aren't ready for this strong color all over your body, try it on just a small part, like your nails with Illamasquas Nail Varnish in Unnatural (13) or NARS nail polish in Chinatown (not pictured). You could also go for a strong lip with Dolce and Gabbanas Classic Cream Lipstick in Dahlia (14). In terms of shoes, there are many, but none so good as the Miu Miu Suede Stud Ankle Boots (15). The CC Skye Warrior Princess Cuff (16) is perfect snippet of the color, while the YSL Large Patent Leather Clutch (17) and 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Leather Tote (18) showcase the color a bit more.

For the Fourth: Swimwear
In the second post (the first of women's) for attire appropriate for celebrating our great nation that is the US of A on the fourth of the seventh month of the year, we have swimwear! because, what better way to celebrate our independence than in barely-there clothing? In our nations colors and patterns, of course. We start out with suits that are sophisticated, could be worn at other times during the summer, but are still vaguely patriotic. "What?! My suit is blue! And fringed! Doesn't our flag have fringe on it?!" Yes, I think it does. Point made, in your Norma Kamali Fringed Bikini (2) no less. That argument won't work with the YSL High-Waisted Bandeau Bikini (1) or the Noelle Holly Ruched Underwire Swimsuit (3) but I'm sure you could come up with something. They are red and white, after all.
Next, we get into those things a little more patriotic, like the J.Crew Searsucker Tank Swimsuit (4) and the Old Navy Gingham Skirthed-Halter Bikini (5). OK, so they might not be super 4th-y, but they are still summery. The Xhilaration Reversible Bikini (6) is probably the most America-Loving you can get, while the Miu Miu Plunge-Front Swimsuit (7) is probably the least (but navy is a color of ours, right?) Lisa Marie Fernandez is basically killin' it with her one-piece (8) and bikini (9) in red, white, and blue stripe. Killin' it.

At the Garden Gates
You may remember I had a wedding to attend recently, and luckily I found an outfit. My Badgley Mischka dress (also available in sequin color) was a little big, actually, almost 2 sizes too big, but I wore it anyway, because what's a summer wedding without a yellow dress? (I don't know, a regular wedding?) And it goes with my favorite Miu Miu wooden sandals (They are kind of old, but I found some similar pairs), and what's a wedding without some wooden sandals? (See above for answer). I also had on some bangles my mother got me at the Union Sq. holiday market last year, one of which broke the first time I put it on. Luckily, these didn't break. Though they did get glitter all over me.

Currently Craving: Miu Miu on Sale
In case ya'll didn't know, Net-A-Porter is having it's semiannual sale. So basically, it is my semiannual favorite time of year. Net-A-Porter's sales are just the best, just like the Barney's Warehouse Sale usually is. Miu Miu is having a particular good sale time, and as it is of my absolute favorite brands of all time, I figured what better time to do a nice little collage of everything I wanted! I only picked my top ten, elsewise you would be seeing the entire collection splashed across this post. I am disappointed, however, that the gold-flecked feather coat is sold out. I first saw that coat in Capri almost a year ago, and I am still obsessed. Oh well, I can still obsess over the Little-House-on-the-Prarie-meets-Picnic-table-cloth-meets-high-fashion dress.

Shoes for the Summit
(Dog not included)
Ok everyone. I need a little help deciding to which shoes I should wear for the WWD FN Summit in New York on Monday . Since it's all about shoes, my feet obviously have to look their absolute best.
Which of these do you like?
Julian Louie for Aldo
Stuart Weitzman
Miu Miu
Chanel
Chloe
Or, since the founder of Toms is speaking, should I run out and buy some new Toms? Or some Tabitha Simmons shoes?
A big thanks to Jack Lucas for the pictures!

2011, Unposted
I take a lot of photos, and a lot of them don't end up on this blog, so I thought, as a nice nod to 2011, I would post 'em on up. Well, 48 of them, at least.
Have a great new year!
xx
