Louis Vuitton x Marc Jacobs

Whether you love Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs or not (but who wouldn't?) you must give this exhibit a visit if you are in Paris. It chronicles both the achievements of Louis and his son Georges Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs as the creative director since 1997. For a Louis lover like myself, this exhibit was amazing- I could not get enough of those trunks! They even had one with M.L. on it- I definitely need that, birthday present anyone? 

The first floor was all Vuitton, and the second all Jacobs. Each was laid out beautifully and innovatively. There were mini garments to showcase what a daily outfit consisted of in the 1800's, pieces x-rayed, a wall of video inspiration, models with animals heads, and the list goes on. Definitely worth it to give this exhibit a look.

I die for this suit.

Currently Craving: French Fashion

I looove French Fashion- Chanel, YSL, Balenciaga, Hermes, the list goes on and on. Being in Paris, I am surrounded by all these stores and more, and I can't help from wanting everything! One of my favorite French companies is Carven- I love how girly, young, and fun the clothes are. I especially love the  Cotton Dress with Ruching (1) and the Biker Style Cotton Jacket (2) which is perfect for summer since its lightweight. You simply can't be French without something Hermes, and the classic lacquered H bracelet in white (3) is super summery and therefore perfect. If you buy no other white, buy the Celine Cabas in Python White (4), need I say more? It's Celine, it's Python.

The Louis Vuitton Yellow Pouchette (5) and sunglasses (6) literally couldn't be cuter, and the YSL Arty Ring (7) in that light turquoise/mint is so perfect for the summer. A Carven blouse (8) comes next- how cool is that print? and then we have the most amazing Lanvin iPhone case (9). I mean, come on. Alber Elbaz is just too cute.


It's been rainy here quite a bit in Paris, so the Etoile Isabel Marant Skinny Jeans (10) would be fabulous to own. (side note- I also love Isabel Marant- her latest collection was too good). Repetto Flats (11) are pricey but amazing, and oohing says summer like a bubblegum pink YSL Clutch (12). (ok, maybe a lot of other things do, but let's just pretend). Another great French brand is Sandro, and the color of this Shirt (13) is so light and pretty. Chloe sandals (14) and a Chanel Bike (15) are obvious essentials for Paris in the summer. Because who doesn't need a Chanel bike?

Dressing For: a Summer Wedding

Spring and Summer and definitely prime Wedding season, and why not? The weather is (usually) amazing (depending on where you are), and everyone is tanner and more beautiful, therefore happier to go and celebrate. I only have one wedding to go to this summer, so I guess that makes me either unpopular, or without enough friends of the marrying age. I'm excited for the impending wedding, though, as it will feature cowboy boots (the groom is from Texas). And, we have known the bride and groom for a long time, so it's extra super exciting. I have my monogramed hanky all ready to go.

I still don't know what I'm wearing, and the wedding is like, today, so here are three little outfits I, or you, could potentially wear. While each would work for a specific theme, they also could work for any theme, though you might want to switch out the white denim jacket, unless it is a southern, cowboy-boot-like-affair. Most ensembles feature either pastels, brights, or floral. How on trend you and I'll be! Though if you really want to make a statement I suggest the Dolce and Gabanna Tomato Dress and Prada Flame or Lipstick Heels. Or sneakers, to cause an even bigger uproar.

I have made the decision that Rompers are actually the best item of clothing in the world. Not only are they adorable, but they are super versatile. You get the freedom of shorts with the look of a dress. What could be better?! You can go from playground to dinner to dancing, etc., etc. (Provided you meet the age requirements for both playground and bar).

There are a lot of rompers out there, most likely one for every occasion, and every body type, though I am still trying to find one that isn't too short-waisted. I think the Alex Wang or the Vanessa Bruno might be my answer. Stay tuned. In the meantime, shop away! 

Shoes Galore!

It's time, once again, for the bi-annual Fashion Week shoe post!

Aren't you all just so excited! Because I am. I've been savin' this baby since September. Which, in fashion time, is like 4 years. Just kidding, I'm not really even sure what fashion time means, but it sounds cool, right? Right. Heeere we go!

And yes, I did take all these pictures.  So basically that means don't steal them. 

DKNY Resort Runway Show

Wow, wow, wow. I have to say, I wasn't always a die-hard DKNY-er, although I have always admired Donna for being such a strong female voice in the industry, and being so passionate about giving back.  Recently, the Donna has been impressing me more and more, and I love it. After two gorgeous s/s12 collections she had me sold. After this resort show, I am the equivalent of an obsessed groupie.

This show was GORGEOUS. There were so many practical but really great pieces that every girl would die to have in her wardrobe. Blazers, great pants, fabulous outerwear, sequins, paillettes, and the fur! Ohmigod the fur! I mean, that red coat speaks for itself (I took at least 10,000 pictures of it).

One of the most amazing parts of the evening was when Donna Karen actually spoke and introduced the collection herself, citing 'the night' as a reference. "What is Donna Karen black?" she asked, "We all love black, we look thin in black, we look sexy in black, we go from day to evening in black, we can never have enough black." One of the cutest moments was when she told the audience how her granddaughter went in her closet and asked, "Grandma, do you like any color but black?" Of course, Donna's response was that yes, she liked red. After all, red and black are the same (at least to her).

She went on to explain how the collection was about the masculine and feminine, skinny pants, blazers, scarves, color, prints, glamour, and sequins ("you can never have enough brightness"). So basically, every trend that's trending right now. Ok...well, anyways, the collection was beautiful. The clothes moved beautifully, the style was beautiful, the fur was beautiful! (ok I'll stop mentioning it, I promise). And right on trend (how could it not be, with so many trends). I may jest, but I really did love the show. I'm going to go broke buying it all. Oh dear...
